As we mourn Tomi’s passing, we acknowledge the extraordinary contribution to Holocaust education and awareness that he made during his lifetime.

Since 2007, we have been running Holocaust Education Programmes for teachers. All of the participants who attend our courses do so out of their interest and desire to learn how to teach the Holocaust in the Irish classroom. Our teacher education programmes are highly regarded by teachers, educators, and government, all of whom recognise our high standards and best practice.

Holocaust Education Ireland tries to make Holocaust education accessible to all. We do not want financial difficulty to be the reason dedicated candidates are precluded from participating in our programmes. Hence, in 2016 we established the Tomi Reichental Scholarship Fund. Through this fund, we can offer a subsidy of up to 50% of a programme fee to deserving candidates and we ask those participants to make up the shortfall in their own time and at their own convenience. What is most gratifying to our organisation is that to date, all of our recipients of one of our scholarships have been invited to embed a module in Holocaust Studies in their schools.

We hope you will wish to contribute to the Tomi Reichental Scholarship Fund, ensuring that participants become educated about the Holocaust and its consequences. Once they have accurate and irrefutable information at their fingertips, they can help combat antisemitism, all forms of racism, and Holocaust denial. We depend on our educators to pass the history of the Holocaust on to the next generation -- it is up to all of us to ensure that they do.
